Common Conditions We Treat:


Rotator Cuff Tears: Tears to the tendons of the rotator cuff (muscles and tendons that surround the shoulder joint) are common, often caused by repetetive overhead motions or injuries like a fall.


Shoulder instability: This can occur due to a previous dislocation or repeated stress on the shoulder joint, leading to a feeling if the shoulder popping out of place.


Shoulder Impingement or Subacromial Pain Syndrome: Occures when tendons and bursae in the shoulder are compressed as the arm is raised overhead, leading ti pain and limited range of motion.


Acromioclavicular (AC) Joint Injuries: Injuries to the AC joint, where the collarbone meets the shoulder blade, can cause pain, swelling, and difficuty moving the shoulder.


Shoulder Dislocation: Occurs when the ball of the uuper arm bone (humerus) comes out of the shoulder socket (glenod).


Tennis Elbow (lLateral Epicondylitis): Pain on the outside of the elbow caused by inflammation of the tendons that attach to the outside of the elbow.
 
Golfer’s Elbow (Medial Epicondylitis): Pain on the inside of the elbow caused by inflammation of the tendons that attach to the inside of the elbow.
 

Cubital Tunnel Syndrome:

Compression of the ulnar nerve as it passes through the elbow, causing numbness, tingling, and pain in the hand and fingers.  
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome:

Compression of the median nerve in the wrist, causing numbness, tingling, and pain in the hand and fingers. 

Wrist Sprains:

Injuries to the ligaments that support the wrist joint, often occurring from a fall on an outstretched hand. 

 
Scapholunate Ligament Injury:
Injury to the ligament that connects two bones in the wrist, causing pain and instability. 
 
Hand and Finger Conditions:
Conditions like trigger finger, Dupuytren’s contracture, and other hand injuries can also be treated in physical therapy. 
 
Brachial Plexus Injuries: Damage to the network of nerves that control movement in the arm and hand, often caused by a forceful pull on the arm. 
 

Fractures: Broken bones in the upper extremity, such as the clavicle, humerus, or radius/ulna. 

 

Muscle Strains and Sprains: Overstretching or tearing of muscles or tendons in the upper extremity. 


 

Tendonitis: Inflammation of a tendon, often caused by overuse or repetitive motions.
